The Men of our area gather on the Third Thursday of each month to grow in faith, discipleship and brotherhood with prayer, Mass*, and a dynamic speaker presentation of relevance. Come, join us to be strengthened in community, with reflection and practical application to grow in discipleship and live as a faith-filled man. We finish with great food, beverages and fellowship.
Our Speaker this month is: Fr. MARK RUTHERFORD
Fr. Mark Rutherford was ordained to the Priesthood in 2009 by Bishop Early Boyea for the Diocese of Lansing after completing studies for M. Div. and S.T.B. degrees at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, Detroit. His undergraduate degrees were earned in philosophy and theology at Ave Maria College. He is now in his 4th year of study in Canon Law in the J.C.L. program, during summers, at Catholic University, Washington, DC. He grew up in the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area in a Catholic family at Christ the King parish. Fr. Mark first heard his call to the priesthood attending a Youth Conference at Franciscan University, Steubenville at the age of 13.
Fr. Mark currently serves as Pastor of St. Mary, Williamston, and was formerly Parochial Vicar at St. Patrick, Brighton. Fr. Mark is known for his charismatic preaching as an authentic witness to a personal relationship with Jesus and docility to the Holy Spirit. Fr. Mark will give an inspiring talk on living out your calling to discipleship amidst the attacks of our millennial culture. Men of all ages are of course encouraged to attend, but Fr. Mark especially invites young men to come for this talk, to engage and encounter Christ, and to be equipped to live out your faith in our shared battle.
Prayer, Mass & Speaker Presentation in the Church. Refreshments in McCann Hall.
*Women are always welcome to attend Mass.
