Today we make our way toward the area of St. Peter’s Square where we will be present for the Canonization of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Please note that locals in Rome are estimating that there may be over a million pilgrims in attendance. Steve Ray may take the majority of the group to a less crowded location with large movie screens. There is no way to predict where we will be and exactly what we will see, however, it will be a once-in-a-lifetime spiritual experience to be joined in celebration with pilgrims from around the world. Note: those who want to try to attend the canonization in St. Peter’s Square need to be in good health because they may be standing for many hours and restroom facilities may be scarce. Following the canonization, the afternoon is free to rest or explore the city of Rome. This evening, Dr. Elizabeth Lev, Catholic art historian, will give a presentation on the Sistine Chapel in preparation for our tour on Tuesday. Following the presentation, group dinner and overnight in Rome. (B|D)
