Fr. Alar, MIC – Divine Mercy Mission

All are invited to the Lenten Divine Mercy Mission led by Fr. Chris Alar, MIC on March 18, March 19 (Solemnity of St. Joseph), and March 20 (Palm Sunday) at Mother of Divine Mercy Parish!
Along with preaching at various Masses, Fr. Alar will give Presentations at the following times
**Update as of March 11: All presentations previously scheduled for St. Joseph Church/Hall are moved to St. Josaphat Church/Hall due to repairs at St. Joseph Church. Here is the updated schedule:
FRIDAY 5 pm at Sweetest Heart of Mary (prior to 6 pm Stations of the Cross and 6:30 pm Mass; Fish Fry 3 – 8 pm)
SATURDAY 10 am at St. Josaphat (prior to 11 am Mass for the Solemnity of St. Joseph celebrated by Fr. Alar during the St. Joseph Day of Prayer)
SATURDAY 3 pm at Sweetest Heart of Mary (prior to 4 pm Mass for Palm Sunday)
SATURDAY 5 pm at St. Josaphat (prior to 6 pm Tridentine Mass for the Solemnity of St. Joseph during the St. Joseph Day of Prayer)
SUNDAY 11:30 am at St. Josaphat Social Hall with Refreshments (following the 9:30 am Tridentine Mass at St. Josaphat and the 10 am Mass at Sweetest Heart of Mary for Palm Sunday)
SUNDAY 1:30 pm at St. Josaphat Social Hall with Refreshments (following the Noon Latin Novus Ordo Mass at St. Josaphat for Palm Sunday)
Fr. Alar’s Presentations will vary, centering on such topics as Understanding the Message and Devotion of Divine Mercy; Mary, the Mother of Mercy; the Church, Vessel of Mercy; Suffering, God’s Gift of Mercy; and Communion and Confession, the Sacraments of Mercy. Materials from the Marians of the Immaculate Conception will be available after all of the Presentations.

Fr. Alar entered the Marians of the Immaculate Conception (the religious community entrusted with spreading the message and devotion of Divine Mercy) as a Postulant in July, 2006. Prior to that time he received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan. After working several years at a Fortune 500 company he began his own consulting company in Charlotte, NC in 2000. After answering the Lord’s call, he attended Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH, for his Philosophy studies and earned his Masters of Divinity degree from Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, CT. Over the past several years he has been mentored by the world’s leading experts in Divine Mercy and he has spoken at nearly 100 parishes to date. Currently he serves as “Fr. Joseph” – the honorary title given to the Director of the Association of Marian Helpers located at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA.
