Conference for Study and Prayer

The Conference for Study & Prayer is a weekend event aimed at helping Catholics better understand their faith. Miles Christi invites knowledgeable speakers who provide thorough and sound presentations on important topics of our Catholic Faith and its impact on society.

The conference also provides means for spiritual growth. Each day includes the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Holy Rosary, Solemn Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, and a spiritual talk by the priests of Miles Christi. Confessions are also available.

A tried and tested path to Christ that has formed many saints, Ignatian spirituality continues to be a powerfully influential source of holiness within the Church.

Registration is now open for our 29th Conference for Study and Prayer: For the Greater Glory of God: The Treasure of Ignatian Spirituality on March 5-6, 2022 at the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, Michigan. This year’s conference will explore the richness of St. Ignatius of Loyola’s life and teachings, the merits of his Spiritual Exercises, the key elements of Ignatian spirituality, Discernment of Spirits, and more.

The life of St. Ignatius as seen in his autobiography and how his conversion and personal spiritual experiences set the groundwork for what we now call the Ignatian spirituality.

Age-Old Treasures of the Church
What a spirituality is and why there are different spiritualities within the life of the Church. How the Ignatian spirituality encompasses the essential elements of Catholic spirituality.

Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam
A look at the virtue of magnanimity and how St. Ignatius highlights and fosters this supernatural virtue directed to the greater glory of God.

The Spiritual Exercises
An explanation of this powerful retreat so praised and recommended by the Church and how it is the source and foundation of the Ignatian spirituality.

Some of the key elements of the Ignatian spirituality, looking more in depth at what they are and how they fit into our spiritual lives.

Discernment of Spirits
An explanation of these fundamental rules, passed on to us by St. Ignatius in the Spiritual Exercises, designed to help us find true freedom and peace.
