General Carol Ann Fausone talks about the importance of Memorial Day
Carol Ann Fausone, served her country for 36 years. She served as the Assistant Adjutant General of Veterans Affairs for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs of the State of Michigan advocating for Veterans from 2003-2011. General Fausone served as the Assistant for Mobilization and Reserve Affairs from 2001-2005 working directly with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, Force Health Protection, and Readiness. Serving in this capacity, she assisted in developing and implementing programs, policies, and operations for Reserve Affairs. General Fausone graduated from the University of Michigan School of Nursing in 1975 and in 1977 received her commission in the United States Air Force as a medical officer. She served on active duty in various nursing positions and in late 1981 transferred to the Michigan Air National Guard. In 1983 and 1995, she completed a Master of Science in Administration and a Master of Science in Nursing from Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan. General Fausone has written over 25 e-books for Legal Help for Veterans since 2013. In 2021, General Fausone co-authored “Impact on Health from Exposures: Case Examples from Military Eras and Guide for Clinical Practice – Practical Guide for Managing the Health of Veterans After War/Conflict Exposure: Case Examples from Recent Events” published in Journal of Nursing Practice. She partnered with the University of Michigan School of Nursing to create 360 Virtual Education, a series of immersive videos created to support health care providers when they are caring for military veterans in a variety of health care settings to address health inequities and give nursing students the tools to engage in culturally competent clinical practice. Carol Ann Fausone continues serving by “Taking Care of Our American Heroes and their Families” to obtain the benefits they deserve.

Fr. Andrew Kowalczyk from St. Clare of Montefalco to talk about a St. Pope John Paul II Mural they just unveiled at the church on the 9th anniversary of his canonization. Curtis Lewis, the artist who painted the mural joins us to discuss how the mural came about and his wife Cynthia Henley-Lewis joins us as well to talk about a children’s coloring book that goes along with the mural and she illustrated the coloring book.
Fr. Andrew Kowalczyk has been a priest for 30 years and is a member of the religious community Michaelite Fathers since 1985. He was educated and ordained in Kraków, Poland and served in the parishes of the London, Ontario, Canada Diocese for 18 years and is now ministering at St. Clare of Montefalco Parish in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan since 2012.
Curtis Lewis is the founder and CEO of World Class Icon Studios LLC formerly known as World Class Icons (WCIS). For more than 15-years Lewis oversaw all artistic and graphic design elements of the organization as well as the executive strategic planning. Before this role Lewis was Art Director of Lewis Publishing Co. Lewis received a full scholarship to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Chicago where he studied Fine and Commercial Art. Lewis is a Master Artist who is proficient in multiple genres such as painting, graphic design, muralist, illustration and more. He has co-authored 22 publications with his wife. And has painted more than 200 murals. His art career spans more than 45-years. He is married to Cynthia Henley-Lewis, and they have one daughter. His hobby is studying history and enjoys cooking with his wife, Cynthia
Cynthia Henley-Lewis is co-owner and COO, of World Class Icon Studios LLC (WCIS) formerly, known as World Class Icon. During her more than 15-years she has been the Editor and Chief. She has also authored and co-authored more than 22 publications with her husband. She is also director of the Publishing division. Henley-Lewis is a journalist and has been published by various news publications such as the Detroit Free Press and the Birmingham Eccentric. Henley-Lewis holds a master’s degree in technical writing from Lawrence Technical University and a Bachelor’s in Journalism from Wayne State University. She is married to Curtis Lewis, and they have one daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and gourmet cooking with her husband, Curtis.
