Segment 1
Jim Musgrave talks about his life as seminarian.
I was born and raised in Allen Park, graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School in 2005, and from Hillsdale College in 2009. I also earned an M.A. at Eastern Michigan University in 2015 and worked at the University of Michigan until entering the seminary in 2020. I just completed my 4th of 6 years of priestly formation for the Archdiocese of Detroit, and God willing, I will be ordained a transitional deacon in April 2025. My home parish is Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth.
Segment 2
Patrick Braga shares his liturgical music he composed.
Patrick Braga is a Catholic composer of classical liturgical music and an urban planning consultant based in metro Detroit. His music has been used in liturgies across several parishes in the Archdiocese of Detroit, including St. Mary in Royal Oak, St. Joseph Shrine and St. Aloysius in Detroit, and St. John Fisher in Auburn Hills. Patrick’s approach to composition blends musical techniques across the centuries, ranging from Renaissance-inspired polyphony to more contemporary innovations in harmony. No matter the style or the ensemble, Patrick’s music is focused on praising and glorifying God. He holds a B.A. in Music from Cornell University.
