Catherine Zardus shares all the news about Magic Carpet Theatre.

 

 

Catherine Zardus (Founder and Artistic Director of Magic Carpet Theatre) has produced, directed, performed and promoted MCT for thirty years and whose audience spans over 200,000.  In 2008, she founded MCT Drama Ministry conceiving, writing and producing three original shows that promote the Gospel: The Parable Project, The Parable Project: Take Two, and At His Feet, Women in Scripture, and an original CD of At His Feet (Nominated for two Detroit Music Awards.)  She obtained her BS in Theatre, from Eastern Michigan University and earned her MFA in Acting from Wayne State’s Hilberry Repertory Theatre, where she performed in scores of plays and was nominated twice for Best Supporting Actress in Detroit.  She has performed in numerous regional theatres across the country and some roles include: Emily in Our Town – Boarshead Theatre, Fanny Squeers in NicholasNickleby – Hilberry, Ado Annie in Oklahoma – Circa ’21 Playhouse- II., Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar – Green Mountain Guild- VT and Nina in A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine – Memphis.  She directed the 2012 production of The Living Stations (now Cross and Light) at The Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament and the drama portion of the 2015 production of We Humble Ourselves. She has performed her original works at the Catholic Women’s Conferences in Detroit and Lansing.  She is an active member of Divine Child Church in Dearborn, has been trained in intercessory prayer by a Franciscan missionary and leads intercession teams, and has been blessed with a vocation as a wife and mother.
