Epiphany -January 21, 2023

Katie Parks shares her adoptions story and how she helps others. Keri Tarrant talks about virtues and how to combat vices. Christine Panyard shares her Eucharist story.

Katie Parks

Katie Parks has been a member of Holy Name parish for 30 years and has volunteered in the Faith Formation program for more than a decade helping prepare students for Confirmation. A native of Syracuse, New York, Katie graduated from Marquette University and worked in non-profit fund development with Hospice of Michigan and more recently as a volunteer and consultant with several organizations including Christ Child Society and Marian High School. Widowed in 2010, Katie has two daughters who live and work in Chicago. Maddie is a healthcare consultant getting her master’s at Northwestern and Clare is a second-grade teacher at St. Andrew’s Elementary School. Katie credits their strong faith for helping their family navigate the difficult days that followed her husband Pat’s death and allowing them to live lives rooted in hope.

Keri Tarrant

Keri is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a BA in Education and has taken classes at Ave Maria College; including Latin and Rome studies. Her studies in Mariology have come from personal study and reflection on the Mystery of Mary in the Heart of the Church, and from her years of formation with the Missionaries of Charity. Keri did not finish formation with the MCs due to health issues. As a lay person she now ministers to the people of God by encouraging Marian Consecration for the work of the New Evangelization and by giving talks on Divine Mercy, Our Blessed Mother, and on the spirituality of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta and St. John Paul II.

Christine Panyard
