Segment 1
Fr. Matthew Bonk from the Catholic Community of Flint is our Parish of the Week Wednesday.
Fr. Matthew Bonk graduated from Michigan State in 1990 with a Communications degree, then worked at Straight Line Homeless Shelter in Lansing, before discerning a call to the priesthood. He was ordained in 2004 as a priest in the Redemptorist order, and served the next 15 years in multiple locations including Nigeria, Rome and different dioceses in the United States. In 2019 he returned to the Diocese of Lansing and in 2022 was officially incardinated into the diocese. He now serves as the Pastor of St. John Vianney Parish and St. Mary Mission as part of the Catholic Community of Flint.
Flint, Michigan has been known in the United States as a city with several crises in recent decades, including economic devastation as GM downsized to 1/10 of it’s employment by 2010, leading to high crime rates and people moving out of the city. From 2014-2019, Flint faced a public health emergency due to contaminated water, followed by the Covid pandemic. How does a city recover from losses of this magnitude?
Under the leadership of Bishop Earl Boyea, the Catholic Community of Flint was formed in order to “Connect, Collaborate and Communicate” between different entities in Flint. The Catholic Community of Flint includes: Christ the King Parish, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, St. John Vianney Parish & School, St. Mary Mission, St. Matthew Parish, Powers Catholic High School, Catholic Charities, the Servants of God’s Love and the St. Luke NEW Life Center. With prayer, work, sacrifice, coordination and commitment, a MIRACLE is happening in Flint, and Fr. Matthew is here to talk all about it.

Segment 2
Danielle Center invites all women to the Behold and Be Held Women’s Conference.
Danielle Center does a fair share of rogue ministry that involves: art, pilgrimage, and traipsing across the world (in no particular order). Loves include: writing weird poetry, scheming about theater, playing around with circus, and hosting dinner parties.
