Jayne Murphy brings her background in Catholic publishing, spiritual writing, and education to this “nudge” toward hospitality in book form. She comes from a family that loves a good theme party and rarely celebrates without putting a creative spin on the gathering. Contemplating the social interactions of Christ with His family and friends has taken “theme” parties to a deeper level. By listening to Our Lady of Cana, the ultimate hostess, Jayne has followed the Blessed Mother’s advice to “Do whatever He tells you.” For Jayne this means encouraging others to imitate Christ by sharing a meal with someone – preferably serving one of her friend Giovanna’s recipes from Holy Chow Hospitality.

Giovanna Delli Carpini Trimpe, professional chef and author of Holy Chow and Holy Chow Gluten Free, draws on her Italian, Venezuelan, and American heritage to create ethnically diverse and universally delicious recipes any skill level can prepare. She has years of experience putting her God given talent as a hostess and her culinary training to work for others. From planning and serving elegant multi-course meals for charity fundraisers to intimate gatherings by the pool for friends, Giovanna has experienced the joy of welcoming guests and providing hospitality for groups large and small. Giovanna is excited to share her knowledge in this inclusive guide to Christian hospitality.

Segment 2

Sr. Piper Klatt invites us to celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.

Sr. Piper is currently a postulant with the Women of Jesus’ Merciful Passion. She was born and raised in a Catholic family in Northern Minnesota where she was very active in her parish and surrounding diocese through her love of music ministry. During her Junior year at Franciscan University, she experienced God calling her to religious life while on a pilgrimage to the Divine Mercy Shrine in Krakow, Poland. Three years later, after much prayer and discernment, she finally responded to the Lord’s invitation– and did so with much joy! The message of Divine Mercy changed her life, and she gives all thanks and praise to God for leading her here to the Shrine where she can dedicate her life, alongside the other faithful Sisters, to help spread this message to aching mankind.
