Sr. Mary Sarah Macht talks about the Sacred Heart Mercy Health Care Center.
Sister Mary Sarah Macht, MSN, APRN is a board-certified, family nurse practitioner. As a sister, Sister Mary Sarah studied for a bachelor’s degree in nursing Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Following this experience, Sister worked as a nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa before being assigned to work at the infirmary of the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Italy. After completing her Master’s degree in nursing in 2014, Sister Mary Sarah joined the team at Sacred Heart Mercy Health Care Center in Alma, working in administrative and clinical roles from 2014-2018. Sister then worked in the Urgent Care Clinics for Warren Clinic/St. Francis Health System in Tulsa, Oklahoma through the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Sister has been seeing patients at Sacred Heart Mercy Health Care Center again since 2020 and recently completed her training in Fertility Education and Medical Management. She is currently working to complete the FEMM teaching course to be able to help him and understand ovulation as a marker of health and to teach fertility awareness.

Christy Whiting talks about St. Mary’s Light parade, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and being a culture of light.
Christy Whiting joined the staff at St. Mary in 2018. Her passion is to introduce people to the Holy Spirit, who fills us with God’s love and empowers us to bring His life-changing love to those around us. Previously she co-founded and directed the Upper Room ministry at Christ the King Parish in Ann Arbor, leading weekly Praise & Worship events, facilitating classes and other special events, and doing social media outreach. She has also done extensive prayer ministry, taught Life in the Spirit Seminars, traveled on mission trips, and ministered to young adults, college students, and teens. Before working full-time in the Church, she was a nanny, taught in a Montessori school, and was the administrator of a pro-life pregnancy resource center. She received her B.S. from Eastern Michigan University with a double major in psychology and (interpersonal) communication. In addition to her work at St. Mary, she is pursuing an M.A. in pastoral studies degree at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. When she’s not working, she loves to spend time with family and friends, enjoy nature, read, and go swing dancing.
