Dr. Marlon de la Torre talks about his book “The Screwtape Letter and the Catechism“.

 

Dr. Marlon De La Torre currently serves as the Senior Director for the Department of Evangelization and Catechesis for the Diocese of Columbus. His professional catechetical background spans over twenty-nine years, having served as the Executive Director for the Department of Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship for the Archdiocese of Detroit, Diocesan Director for Evangelization and Catechesis, Chief Lay Theologian and Canonical Censor for the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth, adjunct professor of Catechetics for Holy Trinity Seminary, Senior professor of Catechesis for the Diocese of Fort Worth Diaconate program.

He served as Executive Coordinator of the Pastoral Provision for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Diocese of Fort Worth. Adjunct professor of Catechetics for The Catholic Distance University, parish Dir. of Religious Education (Diocese of Youngstown). Diocesan Dir. of Religious Education, Catholic High School Principal, and Dean of Catechetics at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic High school (Diocese of Memphis). Superintendent of Catholic Schools (Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph).

He blogs professionally at: knowingisdoing.org. Television and radio credits include: EWTN Live with Fr. Mitch Pacwa, EWTN (Spanish) Nuestra Fe En Vivo with Pepe Alonso, and weekly EWTN Radio guest appearances on the Sonrise Morning Show, Al Kresta Live, Catholic Connection with Teresa Tomeo, Catholic Answers Live, Relevant radio, and St. Gabriel Radio.

Dr. De La Torre attended the Franciscan University of Steubenville, earning undergraduate degrees in Theology and Mental Health and Human Services and a master’s degree in Theology with a concentration in Catechetics. He attended the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS, where he earned a master’s degree in Educational Administration and Curriculum and a Ph.D. in Catholic Doctrine, with concentrations in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Catechetics, and Catholic education from the University of Notre Dame in Australia.

His most important ministry is his family! Marlon and his beloved wife Amy have been married for over twenty-seven years. They have been blessed with four wonderful living children, Miguel (25), Gabriella (22), Maria (19), Gianna (10).

Jen Cox invites us to Life Giving Wounds-Healing Support for Adult Children of Divorce/Separation.

 

As an adult child of divorced parents, Jen is passionate about Life-Giving Wounds. After attending her first LGW retreat in 2018, Jen followed the Lord’s prompting to get involved! Currently, she serves on the traveling retreat team, assists the National Leadership team and occasionally contributes to the LGW Instagram and blog… and most recently has become the Chapter Lead of our newly launched Detroit Chapter! She is also a contributor to Primal Loss: The Now-Adult Children of Divorce Speak. Professionally, Jen is a Pediatric Nurse turned Catholic Wellness Coach, accompanying individuals with a whole-person, Christ-centered approach to their health, wellness and healing towards the life they desire and God’s wills one little way at a time.
