‘It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain’. Jn 15:16

Paul and Kathy Dobrowolski invite all to a Sidewalks Advocates for Life training coming up next weekend. Fr. Joseph Marquis shares great news about a special Saint’s relics. Leisa-Marie Carzon encourages all of us to attend a fundraisers with some very familiar local celebrities.

Paul and Kathy Dobrowolski

Kathy and Paul have been married for 37 years, and have 3 sons.  They first met after moving to Michigan for jobs, Paul as a medicinal chemist from New York, and Kathy as a microbiologist from Wyoming.  They have always been pro-life, but became even more so due to having two sons with special needs – one related to mental health issues and the other to a degenerative genetic syndrome.  In their spare time, they enjoy gardening, reading, golf and birdwatching.

Dr. Leisa Marie Carzon

Dr. Leisa Marie Carzon is President of the Plymouth Area Right to Life, a rapidly growing, fledgling affiliate of Right to Life of Michigan. She is an assistant professor and university graduate program Director of Catholic School Leadership, primary advisor for the St. Thomas Aquinas Education fund for religious, and assists the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist.   She was the 2020 Catholic Vote State Director, leading a group of almost 1000 volunteers who worked to secure the Catholic Vote in Michigan during the last election cycle.  Her dissertation focus in Catholic education included the development of a new Catholic School Leadership and Identity Assessment for principals and superintendents.  And her quantitative study results indicating that principals’ knowledge of and fidelity to Magisterial Church teachings were positively correlated with the strength of their schools’ Catholic identity led to the development of an entirely new theoretical model of Catholic school leadership.  In collaboration with the Cardinal Newman Society, she is currently a principal investigator for a nationwide study to provide feedback to the Congregation for Catholic Education—a Pontifical congregation of the Roman Curia—with results to be presented to the Vatican.

In addition to her career in education, Dr. Carzon is also a coloratura soprano and has performed both nationally and internationally. She has sung with the Michigan Opera Theater and has been a featured soloist with numerous symphonies, chamber ensembles, and choral groups.  Highlights include performances as a soloist on recordings, a featured operatic role in Italy, as back-up vocalist for Maureen McGovern with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, as soloist for the consecration of Mother Angelica’s Hanceville Shrine, and as a chamber vocalist for His Holiness Pope St. John Paul II.  She has been married for 29 years, is the proud mother of an amazing 19-year-old son, and she LOVES being Catholic!
