Bishop Francis Kalabat has declared this year, in the Chaldean Diocese, the ‘Year of the Eucharist’ and will invite us to adore Jesus every month in different locations.  Kathy Crombiecomes back to Epiphany to talk about how God is so merciful when we make sacrifices. She has offered a fast from sweets for  Roe v  Wade to be overturned. We will talk about her iconography too.  Steve Ray will be giving a talk at ECRC in October. He’s going to join me to talk more about this. I hope you all can attend.

Bishop Francis Kalabat

He began undergraduate (philosophy) studies at the University of San Diego‘s Saint Francis de Sales Center for Priestly Formation, in San Diego County, California. Subsequently, he began the requisite graduate theological training for the Chaldean Catholic priesthood at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, in Detroit, Michigan. Ordained a priest on July 5, 1995, he was appointed Parochial Vicar (Associate Pastor) of Mother of God Church in Southfield, Michigan, the city where the Eparchy has its cathedral. Since 2001, Eparch Kalabat has been Pastor of Saint Thomas Church in West Bloomfield, Director of Vocations for the Eparchy, and has been involved with the Center for Re-Evangelization. He speaks Arabic, English and Aramaic, and also knows Spanish. He received his episcopal ordination, and was installed as Eparch on June 14, 2014.

Kathy Crombie

Kathleen Bordo Crombie is a mother and grandmother, as well as a writer and speaker on her personal Catholic faith testimony, religious iconography, and prolife issues. 

After serving 18 years with Right to Life of Michigan as the Director of Multicultural Outreach and Gift Planning, Kathy retired to spend more time with her family, travel the world, deepen her Catholic faith through study and pilgrimages, and continue commissions and special projects as a working iconographer.  Serving as a volunteer for The Servants of Jesus of the Divine Mercy and The Divine Mercy Center in Clinton Twp, MI, as well as being an active member on the Board of Directors for The Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums – Michigan Chapter, she is also a lector and parishioner of The Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn, MI.

Kathy is an accomplished iconographer. Her icons can be found in several private collections, chapels and churches, including the Cathedral of The Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit.

Steve Ray

Steve Ray leads pilgrimages to the Holy Land, Rome and other sites. He converted to Catholicism in 1994 and is the author of “Crossing the Tiber,” “Upon this Rock” and other books. He’s the host and producer of the Footprints of God DVD series and has been to the Holy Land more than 180 times. He also writes bible studies for Catholic Scripture Study International Visit and
