4:00 – Further Up and Further In: Lewis, Tolkien and My Journey to Christ
Holly Ordway was raised in a nonreligious home and for years was an atheist academic firmly convinced that faith was nothing but superstitious nonsense. She was well-educated and had no use for Christianity’s thoughtlessness and triviality. Her views of the faith began to change when she studied the writings of JRR Tolkien and the great Christian poets. This started her down a path that eventually led her to the Catholic Church. She joins us with her story.
5:00 – Ruth Institute Suffers the Consequences of the SPLC “Hate List”
The Southern Poverty Law Center claims there are more than 900 active “hate groups” in the US. But their definition of hate is so broad that it includes several groups who simply defend religious liberty and Biblical marriage, painting them with the same brush as neo-Nazis and the KKK. One of the groups on the list is the Ruth Institute, an organization devoted to helping survivors of the sexual revolution. Last week, the Institute learned that its credit card processing company, Vanco, has cut off its services because it refuses to associate with groups that “promote hate, violence, harassment and abuse.” Jennifer Roback Morse joins us with a look.
