For years now, and especially since the summer, we’ve been talking about the importance of distinguishing between the phrase that Black Lives Matter, and the organization that goes by that name. Recently, Black Lives Matter and the 1619 Project both edited their websites to remove controversially radical statements about their beliefs. This should be recognized as merely a public relations concession, not an ideological one. Emily Jashinsky joins us.
