4:00 – Amazonian “Way of the Cross” Prayed During Synod
This weekend a Via Crucis for the Amazonian peoples and martyrs was held in Rome, during which the faithful “recalled the violence and repression of the indigenous peoples of the Amazon.” Prominent once again was the statue of the naked, pregnant female said to be a symbol of life. And this morning two men stole several of these statues from a Church and threw them into the Tiber River. Edward Pentin joins us.
4:20 – The Priests We Need to Save the Church
Thanks to the fallout from the abuse crisis, when people think of the Catholic Church they do not think of John Paul II or Mother Teresa – they think of someone like Theodore McCarrick. And even today too many priests seem to be nothing more than glad-handing bachelors doing social work. Clearly, this is not what Christ intended. What kind of priest do we need to save the Church? We talk with Kevin Wells.
