Talking about the “Things That Matter Most” on November 21, 2018
4:00 –The Peril of Clerical Hypocrisy
Ken Woodward is one of the nation’s leading experts on how the American media understands American religion. He joins us with a unique look at the crisis in the Church.
4:20 – Cult City: The Forgotten Truths of Jonestown
It’s been 40 years since more than 900 people died at “Jonestown,” a remote settlement in the jungle of Guyana. Since then the lives and deaths of leader Jim Jones and his supporter Harvey Milk have been shrouded in myth and mystery. Jones, once a popular figure among the Hollywood elite, has become a fascist, fundamentalist Christian. And the controversial Milk has become a martyr for the LGBT cause. Dan Flynn joins us with a new look at what happened.
5:00 – The Past, Present and Future of RFRA Legislation
This month marks the 25th anniversary of the passage of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, a landmark piece of regulation that played a vital role in the Hobby Lobby and Masterpiece Cakeshop decisions. Oh, how things have changed! An increasing number of Democrats are now supporting bills that would overturn the legislation. We talk with Monteserrat Alvarado about what this would mean for religious liberty and also discuss some final clarifications from the Trump administration on the HHS Mandate.

What led him to take those final steps to come into full Communion? Doug joins us.
