Talking about the “Things That Matter Most” on March 2, 2020
4:00 – Making Peace with My Sister’s Killer
30 years ago, Jeanne Bishop experienced the ultimate heartbreak. Her sister, brother-in-law and their unborn child were brutally murdered in their own home. Since then, she has come to not only forgive their killer but meet him face-to-face and advocate for his release. She shares her story with us.
5:00 – Coronavirus and the Markets
Coronavirus continues to affect the global stage. Last week Saudi Arabia halted travel to Mecca and there are some concerns that Japan, which just closed schools for the next month, will be unable to host the Summer Olympics in July. One of the most notable effects in the US has been the stock market, which just had its worst week since the 2008 financial crisis. George Schwartz has more.
5:20 – Social Science Apologetics: Lental Health
This Lent, Greg & Lisa Popcak and Catholic Counselors.com are inviting you to celebrate “Lental Health.” Join our Lord in the desert by confronting the lies that Satan seeks to tempt us with. For example, a person who struggles with forgiving themselves might say, “God has forgiven me and I can rejoice in his mercy.” A person who struggles with anxiety might post, “I can face the challenges in my life with confidence because God is with me.” Greg joins us with more.
5:40 – Where Things Are Going Right: Catholics Come Home
Catholics Come Home, Inc. is an independent, non-profit Catholic apostolate that creates effective and compassionate media messages and broadcasts them nationally and internationally, in order to inspire, educate and evangelize inactive Catholics and others, and invite them to live a deeper faith in Jesus Christ, in accord with the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. Tom Peterson joins us.
