Talking about the “Things That Matter Most” on June 11, 2018

4:00 – St Athanasius, Doctor of the Church

On June 20, Matthew Bunson will host a special EWTN event focusing on the life of St Athanasius. He joins us today with a sneak peek and a review of the life and work of this great doctor of the Church.

4:20 – The Forgotten Founders who Fought Big Government

In the earliest days of our nation, a handful of unsung heroes—including women, slaves, and an Iroquois chief—made crucial contributions to our republic. They pioneered the ideas that led to the Bill of Rights, the separation of powers, and the abolition of slavery. Yet, their faces haven’t been printed on our currency or carved into any cliffs. Instead, they were marginalized, silenced, or forgotten—sometimes by an accident of history, sometimes by design. Mike Lee joins us to give them the credit they deserve.

5:00 – Iranian Christians to serve Prison Time

Four Iranian Christians will soon begin serving ten-year prison sentences for “promoting Zionist Christianity.” Tragically, this is far from a rare occurrence in the nation. Christian van Gorder joins us.

5:20 – Divine Mercy and my Path to the Priesthood

As a teenager, Fr David Wells loved his faith and loved to play sports. He had never really considered the priesthood. When he was in high school his uncle, a beloved local priest, was murdered in a botched robbery attempt. At his uncle’s funeral he was struck by the beauty of the priestly life – but he was still a long way off from discerning his own vocation. He joins us with his story.
