On Tuesday, Boston’s Cardinal Sean O’Malley issued a lengthy statement regarding the Cardinal MaCarrick abuse scandal. He said cases such as this “require more than apologies. They raise up the fact that when charges are brought regarding a bishop or cardinal, a major gap still exists in the Church’s policies.” In other news, Fr James Martin will speak at next month’s World Meeting of Families in Ireland and some have voiced concern over what message the event will promote.
