Special Guest Host Tom Nash
4:00 – Saints who Battled Satan
Spiritual warfare is a daily battle as Satan desperately tries to lure us away from God. Through extraordinary assaults and everyday temptations, he’s doing everything he can to lead us to sin. But we aren’t alone. Saints throughout history have shown how we can battle back. Paul Thigpen joins us with a look at how the saints have used prayer, Scripture and other spiritual weapons against the Enemy.
4:40 – Vatican Saints’ Congregation Approves Second Miracle for Blessed Paul VI
Yesterday the Congregation for the Causes of Saints approved the second miracle needed for the canonization of Pope Blessed Paul VI, allowing his canonization to take place, possibly later this year. Once Pope Francis gives his approval, an official date can be sent. This year is also the 50th Anniversary of the pope’s landmark encyclical Humane Vitae. Colin Donovan joins us with more.
5:00 – The Things and Places that Bring Church History to Life
The star of Bethlehem exemplifies the birth of Jesus, the Wittenberg Door is synonymous with the Protestant Reformation, and “the pill” symbolizes the sexual revolution. It’s “stuff” that helps tell the story of Christianity. We’ll look at how we can use objects to bring Church history to life with Mike Aquilina.
5:40 – Our Lady of Lourdes: The Font of Faith, Hope and Charity
Sunday is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, which commemorates the first time the Blessed Mother appeared to St. Bernadette. In subsequent apparitions, the Lady requested that a chapel be built on the site and identified herself as the Immaculate Conception. We’ll talk about it with Elizabeth Ficocelli.
