4:00 – New poll shows Catholic divide over 2020 election tracks with deeper rifts
EWTN News, working with RealClear Opinion Research, has released the second in a series of polls gauging how Catholic voters are thinking as we approach the election. This polls shows sharp divides in the Catholic electorate. For example, 47% surveyed approve of President Trump, while 53% disapprove. Trump’s approval rating is much higher among the 18% of Catholics who say they believe all of what the Church teaches and that those teachings are “reflected in how I live my life.” Matthew Bunson has a closer look at the numbers.

We spoke last year with Dr Richard Brenz, a member of the lay group Gaylord Diocesan Watch, which works to bring justice for victims of priestly sexual abuse. At the time, his group was petitioning for Fr. Matthew Cowan, who had shared information relating to sexual harassment allegations against Fr Dennis Stillwell. Dr Brenz joins us with how things are going.
