Guest Host Jerry Usher
4:00 – The ERA Died Decades Ago (So Why Are the Losers Still Fighting?)
For nearly 50 years, the Equal Rights Amendment has been scrutinized and firmly rejected for one simple reason: It’s not about equal rights for women — and pretending otherwise will never make it so. We’ll talk about it with Sue Ellen Browder.
4:20 – Priest with brain tumor ’embraces it willingly’ for victims of clergy abuse
When Fr. John Hollowell went to Mayo Clinic for brain scans after what doctors thought was a stroke, he received a shocking diagnosis. The scans revealed that instead of stroke, he had a brain tumor. While it is a serious diagnosis, he believes the tumor was an answer to prayer and is offering his suffering for victims of clergy abuse. He joins us.
4:40 – The Boy Scouts’ Long Slide
Last week the Boy Scouts of America filed for bankruptcy. The organization is facing hundreds of sexual abuse lawsuits and a sharp decline in membership. It’s the result of a long slide from the values the Scouts once stood for. We’ll talk about it with Warren Cole Smith.
5:00 – Senate to Vote on Infanticide Bills
Tomorrow the Senate will vote on two important bills – the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. These bills would prohibit abortions after 20 weeks and require that a baby born alive during an abortion must be given proper medical care. Michael New has the details and also has an update on David Daleiden.
5:20 – Why Do We Have the Papacy?
On Saturday we celebrated the Feast of the Chair of St Peter. We’ll talk about the feast and why we have the papacy with Steve Ray.
