4:20 – Auxiliary Bishop Did Not Disclose Priest Accusations
An auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is facing accusations that he failed to report allegations of sexual abuse by a local priest. An archdiocesan spokesperson said that Bishop Joseph Binzer would be removed from his position as head of priest personnel while the archdiocese begins its own internal investigation. Binzer was told in 2013 about allegations concerning recently suspended priest, Fr. Geoff Drew, and failed to disclose those allegations to the archdiocese. Ed Condon has more.
5:00 – Priestly Misconduct – A Private or Personal Matter?
A priest in South Carolina has been suspended for sharing explicit images with a minor on the hookup app Grindr. He won’t be charged because the minor falsified his age and said he was 18 and the diocese is treating the situation as a private matter. The problem is, it’s not a private matter. Sexual sins by the clergy wound the whole body of Christ. We’ll talk more with Christopher Toleffson

Cynthia Scodova was raised in a Fundamentalist branch of Protestant Christianity during the 60s and 70s. As a teenager she was drawn toward nature mysticism and eastern philosophies, and a few years later she found herself fully embracing the “spirituality” of the liberal movements of the 70s and 80s. She did eventually marry, though she did not want kids – but it was her first child that began her journey to the Church. She joins us.
