Last night an Australian appellate panel rejected Cardinal Pell’s appeal of his 2018 sex abuse conviction and he will spend the next several years in prison. Edward Pentin has the details on reactions from the Vatican.
4:20 – Planned Parenthood whistleblower awarded $3 million
An Arizona court has awarded a former Planned Parenthood clinic director $3 million in damages in a wrongful termination case. The former employee, Mayra Rodriguez, claimed she was unfairly dismissed after raising concerns about ethical and legal breaches at abortion facilities run by the group. Abby Johnson has the story.
4:40 – Snopes Creates a “Buzz” Around Babylon Bee
In the last few years “Fake News” has become a primary concern in online platforms. Social media sites like Facebook have entrusted fact-checking sites such as Snopes with flagging fake news stories in the hopes they won’t mislead readers. For some reason, Snopes has repeatedly flagged stories published by the Babylon Bee, a Christian satirical site that publishes humorous, obviously fake stories that are frequently parodies of current events. Why has Snopes committed itself to “debunking” obviously fake stories? We talk with Kyle Mann.
