Talking about the “Things That Matter Most” on April 25, 2018
4:00 – Alfie Evans Clings to Life
On Monday, British citizens joyously welcomed the third child of Prince William of Cambridge and Duchess Kate Middleton. But on the same day this little boy entered the world, another little boy – Alife Evans – was taken off his ventilator despite international protest and an Italian offer to take him to Rome for care. Alfie has survived 36 hours, as late this afternoon British time. After 28 hours, doctors finally fed him. But today hospital officials kicked out paramedics from an air ambulance waiting to take Alfie to Italy. We’ll get more on this horrible story from Genevieve Marnon.
4:20 – What does Mark say in his Gospel?
It’s the Feast of St. Mark, and we’re sharing our interview with Dr. Mary Healy about what he says in his Gospel and how it complements the rest of Scripture.
5:00 – Hope: The Power of one of God’s greatest gifts to us
St. Peter calls us to “always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope.” It’s one of God’s greatest gifts to us and is an essential and life-giving topic. By meditating on Scripture and the teachings of the Church, we come to a deeper understanding of how hope is necessary in the life of a disciple. We’ll talk more with Fr. Philip Bochanski.
