In the last few centuries of Church history, there are fewer stranger accounts than that of Edgarro Mortara, a Jewish boy who was allegedly “kidnapped by the Vatican” and later became a priest. He published a memoir in 1888 so the world would know he was not kidnapped, but the legend lives on. We’ll look at the story with Roy Schoeman.
