Catholic high school runner sacrifices time, position at state finals to help fallen competitor

It’s not the finish Maggie Duba was hoping for during Friday’s Division 2 state championship meet.

That’s not to say that the West Catholic junior didn’t do something spectacular, though, because not all great runs are measured by a stopwatch.

Duba was charging to the finish line in the meet at Michigan International Speedway, and she estimated that she was about 75 yards from completion when she came across a fellow competitor who had dropped to her knees.
