Segment 2 – HHS Plans New Rule to Mandate Health-Care Providers Comply With Abortion and Gender-Transition Agendas, With No Religious-Freedom Exceptions
“We oppose any regulatory action by the Department of Health and Human Services that infringes on conscience and religious freedom rights and that would push pro-life and faith-based entities out of health care. We are appalled by reports that HHS is considering compelling medical professionals and employer insurance plans to provide and pay for abortions and other unethical and harmful procedures. Such action would violate federal law and the civil right of religious freedom guaranteed under the First Amendment. We hope Congress and HHS will seek legislative and regulatory avenues that justly strengthen the social safety net without harming life, dignity, and basic civil rights.” – Louis Brown (Originally aired December 22, 2021)

Louis Brown is the Executive Director of Christ Medicus and a certified lawyer. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan, the U.S. District Courts of Michigan, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He was part of this presidential administration, serving at HHS until March 2019. Louis helped establish the Catholic health care sharing option, CMF CURO, in 2014 and served as the Director of CMF CURO until 2017.

Segment 3 & 4 – Michigan diocese: Transgender must `repent’ to be baptized
“A Catholic diocese in Michigan is asking its pastors to deny baptism, confirmation and other sacraments to transgender and nonbinary people unless they have “repented,” a policy that’s possibly the most sweeping of its kind in the U.S.” Bishop Doerfler explains. (Originally aired December 10, 2021)

Reverend John F. Doerfler is the Bishop of Marquette, MI. Bishop Doerfler’s first priestly assignment was as parochial vicar at St. John Nepomucene Parish in Little Chute, Wisconsin from 1991-1995.  He then spent the next two years earning his licentiate in canon law at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.  When he returned to Wisconsin, he was appointed defender of the bond for the Tribunal of the Diocese of Green Bay and parochial vicar of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay, while earning his licentiate in sacred theology from John Paul II Institute for Marriage and the Family.  He went on to earn his doctorate in sacred theology from the same institute in 2008.
