Segment 2 & 3 – Couple to Couple League Announces Natural Plan, An Overview Program For Young Couples Today
“The course is available at learnnfp.org and is made up of 10 instructional modules and additional bonus materials covering more targeted topics. While Natural Plan was designed with parishes and dioceses in mind for in-person teaching, an option exists for couples to take the course online. Natural Plan is low cost and includes materials and resources, as well as a 60-day free trial of CCL’s Peak Day app – an app designed to help couples track their fertility.”

Katie Zulanas is the Executive Director of the Couple to Couple League, an organization celebrating 50 years of promoting and teaching Natural Family Planning. With a background in software engineering and marketing, Katie has focused on providing platforms to allow teachers to support women and men through a lifetime of fertility.

Segment 4 – Catholic parish fights to protect its religious mission from Michigan politicians
“A Catholic parish in Michigan asked a federal appeals court yesterday to protect its ability to guide its church and school community, without first asking for permission from state officials. In St. Joseph Parish v. Nessel, the parish challenged a newly revised state law that makes it illegal for St. Joseph to hire staff who agree to uphold its religious beliefs and bars it from maintaining a church and school environment that reflects its faith. After a lower court dismissed the lawsuit earlier this year, St. Joseph is asking the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals to let St. Joseph run its parish and school activities consistent with its Catholic beliefs about human sexuality and marriage.”  Lori Windham joins us.  Read more about it here.

Lori Windham is vice president and senior counsel at Becket, where she has represented clients on cutting-edge religious freedom issues since 2005. She has represented parties before the Supreme Court, arguing Becket’s unanimous victory on behalf of foster families in Fulton v. Philadelphia, as well as working with the Becket team on its Supreme Court victories in Hosanna-Tabor, Hobby Lobby, and Little Sisters of the Poor. She won a victory for the world’s largest religious media network in EWTN v. Azar, staving off millions of dollars in government fines under unlawful the HHS mandate.
