Segment 3 – The Pope Francis Center in Downtown Detroit
“Beginning Nov. 16, the Pope Francis Center, a day center in Detroit that serves individuals experiencing homelessness, will temporarily relocate its services to the TCF Center for the winter to meet the increased demand for services in line with COVID-19 safety guidelines. The relocation was made necessary due to the ongoing pandemic – while most Michiganders have a warm home to shelter in, Detroiters experiencing homelessness are forced to face extreme winter elements. The Pope Francis Center aims to change that by being able to provide more of the city’s homeless with food, shelter and warmth at the TCF Center in a safe way.”
Fr. Tim McCabe is the Executive Director of the Pope Francis Center in downtown Detroit.
