Segment 1 – Intro and News

Segment 2 & 3 – Fighting the Expansion of Abortion Rights in Ohio
“Laura Doroski, a resident of Steubenville, Ohio, has raised concerns about a proposed constitutional amendment in the state. The amendment, known as Issue 1, aims to protect the right to make reproductive decisions, including abortion. However, Doroski believes that the broad language of the amendment could have negative consequences.”  She “suffered a miscarriage while Ohio’s Heartbeat Law was in effect and received medical intervention, including both medication and a D&C, which backers of the amendment are claiming will disappear unless we enshrine a right to abortion in our state constitution. I can also share how the Church and our Faith helped me through that experience, and how Catholics can minister to parents going through this.”

Steubenville resident: Issue 1 ‘protects abusers, eviscerates parental rights, eliminates laws that protect women’

Segment 4 – Notre Dame students defend ‘dignity and sanctity of women’ ahead of campus drag show
“Two seniors at the University of Notre Dame are leading a group of concerned students in objecting to a university-sponsored drag show, set to be held on campus as part of a one-credit course. In a letter to the editor published Oct. 24 in the Observer student newspaper, seniors Madelyn Stout and Merlot Fogarty said multiple students reached out to Father Gerry Olinger, vice president of student affairs, to object to the planned Nov. 3 show, which is set to follow a symposium on ‘efforts to ban drag.'”  Read more about this here.

Merlot Fogarty is a University of Notre Dame senior studying theology, political science, and constitutional studies. On campus, Merlot served as president of Notre Dame Right to Life, communications director for both the Network of Enlightened Women and the Irish Rover, and as a group leader for the Student Policy Network’s research project with the Charlotte Lozier Institute.

Segment 5 – Bible Verse of the Week
Teresa and Gail discuss Luke 12:51 – “Do you think that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. For from now on five in one family will be divided: three against two, and two against three.”
