Segment 3 – Biden Health Dept Moves to Erase ‘Father’ and ‘Mother’ From Childcare Law
CatholicVote has learned that the Biden administration’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has filed an as-yet unpublished regulatory proposal that would eliminate the words “mother,” “father,” “paternity,” and “his” and “her” from childcare-related laws. “This proposed regulation aligns with President Biden’s Executive orders” addressing “how the Federal Government should pursue a comprehensive approach to advancing equity for all, including members of the LGBTQI+ communities,” the unpublished document states.  Logan Church explains.  (Originally aired September 28, 2023)

For over seven years, Logan Church has been an emerging leader in the campaign world. Having worked on over a dozen campaigns in six states, Logan dedicated her career to electing quality candidates to public office. Now, Logan continues that dedication in her work with CatholicVote as their National Political Director. She spends her time assessing races and initiatives nationwide in order to ensure CatholicVote is empowered to make a difference on the ground.

Segment 4 – There and Back Again: A Somewhat Religious Odyssey
This story of one man’s amazing journey from Protestant fundamentalism through the Church of England to the Catholic priesthood offers an inspiring tale of God’s providence, and the truth that “all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to his purpose.”  Fr. Longenecker joins us.  (Originally aired August 22, 2023)

Father Dwight Longenecker, raised in an Evangelical Protestant home, attended Bob Jones University, pursued further studies in theology at Oxford, and was ordained an Anglican minister. In 1995, he was received into the Catholic Church in England, and eleven years later he returned to his native United States to be ordained as a Catholic priest. He now serves as pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Greenville, South Carolina.
