Preston Becker currently serves as the Spiritual Care Specialist at Ascension Genesys Hospital (Grand Blanc, MI), where he provides direct care as a clinical chaplain and also oversees the day to day operations of the Spiritual Care Department. He is also pursuing a Doctorate in Healthcare Mission Leadership at Loyola University.  The National Association of Catholic Chaplains became Preston’s home in 2020 and he was board certified in 2021. He also serves on the Marketing Panel, Nominations Panel, and was an interviewer for Board Certification in 2022. Preston feels particularly passionate about helping first-career Catholic Chaplains discover and sustain their call to this sacred work.

Pope Francis has doubled down in his personal war on fossil fuels while condemning ‘extreme practices’ such as fracking. It is time world leaders to ‘listen to science and institute a rapid and equitable transition to end the era of fossil fuel,’ the pontiff urges in his message for the Feast of Creation, to be celebrated on September 1.”  Dr. Thomas Williams joins us to discuss.  (Originally aired September 1, 2023)

A 2018 visiting research fellow for the Center for Ethics and Culture at Notre Dame University, Thomas D. Williams has written widely on theology, philosophy, ethics, and spirituality, and his 15 books include Who Is My Neighbor? Personalism and the Foundations of Human Rights and The World As It Could Be: Catholic Social Thought for a New Generation. Williams teaches theology at St. John’s University Rome campus and has also done extensive media work, serving as consultant and commentator on faith, ethics, and religion for Breitbart, NBC, CBS, and Sky News in the UK.  His new book is “The Coming Christian Persecution.”
