Segment 2 & 3 – Catholic parish challenges Michigan law that would control who it hires
“A Catholic parish in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is taking a legal battle to an appellate court amid fears that a state civil rights law could be used to restrict its religious liberty in matters related to gender identity and sexuality.”  More details are here.  John Bursch joins us today.

John J. Bursch serves as vice president of appellate advocacy for Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), the largest public-interest law firm in the world defending religious liberty, free speech, parental rights, marriage and family, and the right to life. John has argued twelve cases in the U.S. Supreme Court, including cases defending the Catholic Church’s teachings on marriage and sexuality.  He is the author of “Loving God’s Children The Church and Gender Ideology.”

Segment 4 – Judge Rejects Maryland Parents’ Plea to Restore Opt-Out for LGBTQ Books
“A U.S. District Court judge denied Maryland parents’ request Thursday for an order allowing them to opt their children out of instruction using LGBTQ “Pride Storybooks.” Atheist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and other parents demanded the right to opt out of an LGBTQ book curriculum for pre-K through fifth grades in Montgomery County Public Schools, a Maryland school district just outside the nation’s capital.”  Read all about it here.

William J. Haun is Senior Counsel at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty and a Nonresident Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). At Becket, Will litigates nationwide in defense of religious liberty for all faith traditions, particularly before the U.S. Supreme Court and in other federal and state appellate courts.

Segment 5 – Bible Verse of the Week
Teresa and Gail discuss Matthew 18:6 — “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”
