Segment 3 – What Do You Seek? Encountering the Heart of the Gospel
“The Good News of Jesus Christ is known as the kerygma, based on the Greek word kerysso, meaning ‘to herald’ or ‘to proclaim.’ It is the core message of Christ that each of the Apostles, the original heralds of the Gospel, proclaimed to the world. Dr. Edward Sri is a theologian, author, and presenter of several faith formation programs used by thousands of parishes around the world, and he is the host of the weekly podcast All Things Catholic. With Curtis Martin, he is a co-founder of FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) and currently serves as the organization’s senior vice president of Apostolic Outreach. His previous book is When You Pray: Trust, Surrender, and the Transformation of Your Soul.
Segment 4 – Pope Francis Center set to open facility that will be ‘game changer’ for homeless
“The Pope Francis Center’s bridge housing facility on Detroit’s west side is an ambitious project for an audacious mission. Fr. Tim McCabe, SJ, president and CEO of the Pope Francis Center, said the homeless ministry that operates out of SS. Peter and Paul (Jesuit) Church in downtown Detroit is nearing completion of a one-of-a-kind transitional facility to get people off the streets and into permanent housing.” He joins us today to discuss.
