Segment 4 – Natural Womanhood Responds to Mother Jones Claims About Birth Control
“Mother Jones, a major liberal digital media outlet, published an article by Kiera Butler titled “The Anti-Abortion Movement’s Next Target: Birth Control.” It mentioned Natural Womanhood, a US non-profit organization that provides its readers with vital, evidence-based information about the risks of birth control and the benefits of natural birth control alternatives. The article claimed that NW is part of a movement to remove access to birth control, which Butler portrayed as the next frontier for the pro-life movement post-Roe v. Wade. NW would like to address her accusations, which are currently being lobbed at many religious, conservative, and/or pro-life organizations, in an effort to foment fear ahead of the Supreme Court’s upcoming Roe v. Wade decision.”

Grace Emily Stark is the Editor of Natural Womanhood. Grace holds a B.S. in Healthcare Management & Policy from Georgetown University, and a M.A. in Bioethics & Health Policy from Loyola University Chicago. She is a current Ramsay Institute Fellow, and in 2019, she was awarded a Robert Novak Alumni Fund Journalism Fellowship to research and write about the history of birth control, birth control side effects, and the growing interest in natural methods of birth control.Â
