Segment 3 – Kolbe Prison Ministries
Kolbe Prison Ministries (KPM) is a Catholic lay organization of men and women who volunteer to serve the incarcerated with 3-day retreats and follow-up education, including but not limited to, RCIA and Bible studies. Since 2009, KPM has brought many hundreds of retreats into prisons, serving in over 60 facilities across several U.S. states and is recognized by the USCCB by being listed in the Official Catholic Directory.  (Originally aired January 25, 2024)  Ascension Donates $338,000 in Bible Study Materials to Kolbe Prison Ministries: “Truly a Godsend”

Kolbe Prison Ministries Board Member Kerry Johnston has an extensive background as a for-profit executive, non-profit director, fundraising organizer and web developer. Before his retirement,  his technical and business education had served him well in his long career in the energy industry. However, his true passion is to serve God and help others grow in faith. Kerry has volunteered with several Catholic organizations, but now focuses primarily on the communication aspects of KPM, including its website, social media and public relations. In 2017, he was the recipient of a Lumen Gentium Award from the Archbishop of San Antonio for his ministry work.

Segment 4 – College of St. Joseph the Worker
“The College of St. Joseph the Worker forms students into effective and committed members of their communities by teaching them the Catholic intellectual tradition while training them in skilled and dignified labor. We teach our students to think, but also to pray, to love, and to build.”  (Originally aired January 17, 2024)

Jacob Imam was born into a Muslim home, and converted to Catholicism under the guidance of his godfather, Walter Hooper (C. S. Lewis’s personal secretary). He graduated from the University of Oxford as a Marshall scholar with his masters and doctorate, writing his dissertation on theology and economics.  He is the Founder and VP of Finance at the College of St. Joseph the Worker.
