Segment 3 – Healing After Abortion: A Clinical Training Virtual Event
“This virtual event will feature presentations addressing specific areas of healing after abortion, including trauma, shame, post-abortion stress, grief and how faith plays a role in healing. The day will also include a specific session for priests, stories from women and men who found healing through Project Rachel, and an overview of the Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat model.” Click here for information on this February 12th event.
Maggie Walsh is the director of the Project Rachel Ministry in the Diocese of Grand Rapids through Catholic Charities of West Michigan.
Fr. John Carlin is a recently ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit. He is currently serving at St. Joseph Church in Lake Orion and has a passion for pro-life work.
“The post-abortion healing training event, being held virtually on February 12th is a multi-diocese collaboration to help educate counselors and clergy in an effort to grow the Project Rachel network throughout the state. Additionally, we are opening the retreat to crisis pregnancy center staff and volunteers, nurses, pastoral care and social workers and anyone whose work or ministry involves caring for women of any age. The Michigan diocesan Project Rachel directors (from Detroit, Lansing Saginaw, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids) have a long history of collaboration and are passionate about reaching post abortive women and anyone who suffers because of an abortion experience.”
