Segment 1 – Intro and News

Segment 2 – National Catholic Prayer Breakfast Feb. 8th
“The Most Reverend William Byrne of the Diocese of Springfield-Massachusetts, will keynote the 19th annual National Catholic Prayer Breakfast to be held at 7:00 am ET Thursday, February 8th, 2023 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Washington, D.C.  Reverend Byrne’s remarks will touch on the theme of this year’s NCPB: “Be of Good Cheer! The Eucharist, The Source and Summit of our Faith,” and specifically will reflect on the National and International Eucharistic Congresses. As Catholics face vicious attacks both home and abroad, and relativistic ideologies attempt to undermine fundamental truths of our faith and divide the faithful, now more than ever, the Church needs to foster a Eucharistic revival to unites the faithful in honoring the real presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.”

Mark Randall is a board member, event chairman and Master of Ceremonies for the annual National Catholic Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC. Other board positions include Rotary International, the Knights of Columbus, and Angelus Academy.

Segment 3 – Big Tech is preying on children for profit, and Congress needs to stop it
“Research from the Parents Television and Media Council, where I am vice president, reveals that Hollywood is marketing television shows with explicit adult content to young teens through social media apps such as TikTok and Instagram, which are popular with 13 to 17-year-olds. We are talking about programs such as “Euphoria,” “Sex Education” and “PEN15,” which carry TV-MA ratings and are not for children or teens. Social media is being used to get around parents and directly to children with this content.”  Read more here.

Melissa Henson is a noted expert on entertainment industry trends and the impact of entertainment media on children and American culture at large. She is the Parents Television and Media Council’s Vice President.
