Last week the American Library Association observed its annual “Banned Books Week,” a celebration of books that have been challenge or removed from schools and libraries. Ironically, many books that were banned in previous generations are now part of a school’s core curriculum. But do the people who celebrate these “banned books” always advocate against censorship?
