We often hear parents concerned that Catholic schools are not “Catholic enough.” If we want our kids to have a sufficient Catholic formation, teachers should assign more readings that foster a historical understanding of the faith, a “Big Picture” or “Grand Narrative” of the Catholic past. Mark Bauerlein has some suggestions.

Today is the feast of Padre Pio, the beloved modern-day saint who had the stigmata and is known for his motto to “pray, hope and don’t worry.” His life had a strong influence on Jack Krach, who was born on his eventual feast day.
