Andrew Kubick looks at an odd story in Newsweek – “shopping for sperm” – and we look at the soul of Catholic education with Jason King.

“Shopping for Sperm”

A recent Newsweek cover story entitled “shopping for sperm” explores an online “baby boom” being created by an unregulated sperm market. Single women and same-sex couples are pursuing pregnancy through people they find online. We take a look at this strange story with Andrew Kubick.

Andrew S. Kubick is the Deputy Director of the National Center for Religious Freedom Education and Research Fellow in Bioethics and Medical Conscience at the Religious Freedom Institute. He is also a Personal Consultations Ethicist at the National Catholic Bioethics Center and Adjunct Instructor of Bioethics at the University of Mary. His book Transplanting the Womb: A Catholic Bioethical Analysis is due out this fall.

Jason King is Beirne Chair and Director of the Center for Catholic Studies at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. He received his Ph.D. from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He currently serves as editor emeritus of The Journal of Moral Theology.
