Michael Schmiesing currently serves as the Director of Advancement for the Steubenville Catholic Schools in his hometown of Steubenville, Ohio, where he resides with his wife and four daughters. When not fixing things around the house or reading books to the girls, he is a camping and shooting sports enthusiast. His degree in economics, short stint living in China, and time working in banking have developed a passion for the social teachings of the Catholic Church, particularly in areas relating to the economy, political life, and self-defense.

God Wants Even Your Wounds

Chapter 7 of the Gospel of St. Luke records an encounter that took place when Jesus was eating in the house of a Pharisee named Simon when a woman enters the house and anoints his feet with precious oil. Simon is aghast that a supposed prophet would allow himself to be touched by such a sinner, and Jesus rebukes him. We talk more about the nature of Christ’s forgiveness with Joe Heschmeyer.
