Secular modernity and the divisions in the Church
Perhaps the saddest characteristic of the battles going on within the Church these days is the fact that both sides so easily allow themselves to frame the issues in modern, political terms. Catholics have gone on using old words without realizing that although they sound and look the same, they have taken on new and radically different meanings in our now Liberal order.
