How the kingdom of God originates in the home

When you hear that Christians are called to build the kingdom of God, what do you think that means? The primary way we build God’s kingdom is not by doing “big things for Jesus,” but rather by working to build strong marriages and family lives. Dr. Greg Popcak joins us.

Dr Greg Popcak is the founder and director of CatholicCounselors.com, a group pastoral telecounseling practice providing faithful help to Catholics dealing with personal, emotoinal and relationship problems. Together with his wife, Lisa, he is the author of over 20 books integrating insights from counseling psychology and the timeless wisdom of our Catholic faith. They are also the developers of the CatholicHOM app, a resource helping Catholic families thrive. Dr. Greg and Lisa are the hosts of More2Life, a call in advice program airing weekdays at 10am E and produced by Ave Maria Radio and carried across the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network.

The Death of Learning

The liberal arts are dying. They are dying because most Americans don’t see the point of them. Americans don’t understand why anyone would study literature or history or the classics when they can get an engineering or business degree. And in a related problem, the very idea of “Western civilization” has become a term of reproach at so many supposedly thoughtful institutions. What can be done? John Agresto joins us.

John Agresto is the author of The Death of Learning: How American Education Has Failed Our Students and What to Do about It. He has taught at several institutions including the University of Toronto and Duke University and was president of St. John’s College in Santa Fe for 11 years.
