Venezuelan elections: Maduro claims victory, opposition claims fraud

The Venezuelan National Electoral Council, controlled by the entrenched socialist government of Nicolás Maduro, has declared him the winner of the recent presidential elections amid much national and international criticism accusing the government of election fraud. Ed Clancy tells us more.

Jason King is Beirne Chair and Director of the Center for Catholic Studies at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. He received his Ph.D. from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He currently serves as editor emeritus of The Journal of Moral Theology.
