Baptism: The Fountain of Salvation

Aristotle writes of an ancient Greek philosopher who believed that everything in the universe is made of water. While we know this is not literally the case, it does highlight the importance of water to our bodies and souls. The Scriptures abound with water liturgy, which is the foundation for the Church’s teachings on Baptism. Fr. Isaac Morales joins us with more.

Fr. Isaac Augustine Morales, OP, is associate professor of theology at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island. He previously taught at Marquette University and at Duke Divinity School. Morales is the author of The Spirit and the Restoration of Israel: New Exodus and New Creation Motifs in Galatians and coeditor (with David M. Moffitt) of A Scribe Trained for the Kingdom of Heaven: Essays on Christology and Ethics in Honor of Richard B. Hays.
