Stocks tumbled this morning as fears of a US Recession caused turmoil worldwide. Robert Whaples tells us more.

Dr Robert Whaples is editor of the Independent Review and professor of economics at Wake Forest University. He is the co-editor of Is Social Justice Just and the editor of Pope Francis and the Caring Society. He also hosts the Modern Economic Issues lecture series at the Great Courses.

Evangelizing like the early Church

We’ve been talking with Mike Aquilina about some of the first cities to hear the Gospel and how they were evangelized. So far, our discussion has focused on well-known cities like Jerusalem and Rome. Today, we shift to cities that are less well-known, but just as fascinating.

 

Mike Aquilina is the author of several books about the Early Church, including The Eucharist Foretold: The Lost Prophecy of Malachi and How the Fathers Read the Bible: Scripture, Liturgy and the Early Church. He's executive vice-president of the St Paul Center and a contributing editor to Angelus News. He has hosted eleven series on EWTN and is a regular guest on many EWTN programs.

Fulton Sheen’s Thoughts on the Demonic

In 1974, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen stated that he intended to write a book about the demonic. But such a book never came to fruition. Now, some fifty years later, Sheen’s intended book has finally been compiled, all in his own words, thanks to the efforts of Fr. Dave Tomaszycki. He joins us.

Fr Dave Tomaszycki serves as priest secretary for Archbishop Allen Vigneron. He is the editor of On the Demonic, a collection of writings by Archbishop Fulton Sheen.
